Let’s be honest, doing sport is better with some company.
So, what’s better than your four-legged-friend?
Stand Up Paddleboarding is one of the fastest-growing water sports. This is because it is relatively easy to learn and requires minimal equipment. That’s why teaching your dog to ride with you won’t be too challenging.
Our advice is, depending on the size of your dog, a wide board is better than a narrow one. For those dogs that are just starting out, we recommend using boards with a non-slip pad. Inflatables are also a great option for this great combo!
The most pressing question is; „How do you get your dog on the board?“ There are some very daring ones, but for those who are timid or are beginners, it is best to familiarize them with the board.
To do this, set up your SUP anywhere in your home and let your dog explore the board on his own at first. Place a treat on the board, this is usually a foolproof trick.
It is advisable to always take a treat to place on the board before each session, this way our pet will associate this activity with treats.
Every dog is different, so it will be very important to work at the pace of the pet so that each SUP session is a fun experience and is always rewarding!
