We wanted the construction to be offered at a very competitive price point, while maintaining solid performance in the surf, without sacrificing the weight or strength.

The construction has been approved after testing in Portugal, Israel and Thailand, combining a wide range of conditions in wave types and climate differences.

HONEYCOMB PAD

The honeycomb pad structure makes this design truly stand out. Not only does it look unique and bene ts from a reduction in weight from a full pad, we believe it offers one of the best grips we have ever used.

The small gaps between the pads give you multiple corners to wedge your feet against, providing the rider additional grip and more control to drive the board harder through turns. The diamond grooving is incredibly secure under foot, combining the corduroy wings allowing the rider to feel when they are close to the tail of the board.

TWIN T-STRINGER DECK AND BOTTOM

PROTECTS AGAINST TOTAL BREAKAGE

The combination of twin T-stringers deck and bottom work together to increase the overall total breakage strength. The T-stringers are positioned close to the rail acting similar to an i-beam to endure heavy drops and strong wipe outs.

STRONG FIN BOXES

The fin boxes are molded with extra strong Akulon Eco, made from upcycled fishing net, then wrapped high density foam and sandwiched in over 1000 grams of glass reinforcements.

MULTIPLE REINFORCEMENT

In the standing area, nose and tail increase impact resistance. An additional wide layer of 200g glass wraps the rails for higher strength against paddle impact, and further reinforces the overall strength against buckling.

Shear resistant, fused and moulded individually to fit each and every Starboard board providing high strength at the lightest weight. Our moulded core technology produces zero EPS wastage.

RIGID STANDING AREA

SUSTAINABLY SOURCED PINE

A standing area of 0.6mm Australian Pine is added for extra deck impact resistance and rigidity.

For every board Starboard plants 3 mangrove trees with Worldview International Foundation.

Each tree absorbs 673kg of CO2 during its first 25 years.

50% of absorption goes towards offsetting this board & 50% is secured as carbon credits to fund livelihood projects in Myanmar.

The average emission from a Starboard board is 100 kg CO2.

By planting 3 trees per board we offset this 10 x over.

1.4 kg of trash is collected per board by starboard pop crews at beaches in Thailand & Myanmar.

Globally, an individual is responsible for 1.4 kg of plastic reaching the ocean every year.

Starboard balances this amount for our customers.
