It was an amazing day of racing in Mallorca this past weekend for the Port Adriano SUP Race (EuroTour SUP stop #2). The Mediterranean Sea once again shows off its beauty and also who’s really in charge! Photos by Georgia Schofield, courtesy of EuroTour.
In the woman’s race, it was team rider Espe Barreras (Spain) who put on a solid performance to out paddle #1 ranked Duna Agordillo (Spain) proving on her home grounds that she’s in top form. The ever experienced Italian team rider Caterina Stenta (Italy) came in third to round off the women’s podium on her first showing this year’s SUP EuroTour.
“It was my first time racing in Mallorca and I’m absolutely in love with this place.
A 12 km course combined different conditions: the starting line was inside the port, and these flatter conditions were great where I could lead the front pack to divide the field. From here, we were heading to Isla del Toro with big chop conditions through nice cliffs. Once around the island, it was a technical 8 km sidewind track to Isla Malgrats that made difference between riders. These were my favourite kms being focused on ocean reading and pushing my All Star to the finish line in a solid first position.
Caterina Stenta made a move on the second part of the race to finish in the third position making a great race as well.” ~ Espe Barreras
“It was a 12,5km in tough ocean conditions, almost 80% of the race was a sidewind with bumps from a bit everywhere, and the last 2km was a nice downwind.
I didn’t have the best start, unfortunately, having to fight my way to the front again. I managed to catch 3rd place at the first Island turn at the 4km mark.
It was a tough race with a hard sidewind, but I actually enjoy these conditions. I felt stable with the new All Star in the bumps and ocean!” ~ Caterina Stenta

Rising star and talent to watch out for was 16-year-old Ethan Bry (France) that kept up with Boothy most of the race and had the best performance of his young career.
