Got a puncture or small rip in your inflatable paddleboard? Here is a step-by-step video to explain how to repair an inflatable paddle board puncture.
You will need:
- Hair Dryer
- Glue and PVC patches from the repair kit
- Tape
- Brush or spatula
- Acetone
- A cloth
- Gloves and mask
Follow these easy steps to repair your iSUP:
- Clean the area around the puncture with acetone
- Dry the area carefully afterwards
- Cut patch to approximate size to use for preparing the puncture
- Place the patch over the puncture
- Draw the outline of the patch using a pencil
- Apply tape to the outline of the puncture
- Apply glue on both board and patch
- Using the brush or spatula, make sure the glue is spread evenly
- Leave the glue to dry for 5 – 10 minutes
- If the glue doesn’t stick to your glove it means it’s ready to bond
- Place the patch on top of the puncture area
- Use the hairdryer to gently heat the area to ensure the best bonding
- Use the spatula to firmly press the patch removing any air bubbles that maybe there – this ensures a strong bond
- It is recommended to put some extra weight on top of it
- Remove the tape
- Allow 24 hours for the glue to dry and bond properly before inflating again
