Bart wins the second ultra endurance race of his 2016 season in Missouri, USA at the MR340, a 547 km race (or 340 miles hence the name) along the Missouri river crossing major US cities starting in Kansas City and finishing in Saint Charles near Saint Louis. Bart also set the new record for the course on a Stand Up Paddle finishing in 51 hours and 15 minutes beating the previous record by 10 hours.
It was only two weeks ago that the Starboard rider, expert in long distance races won the Yukon River Quest, a 715 km race through the Canadian wilderness but Bart said that the MR340 was even more difficult although shorter in length due to extreme heat and being a lot more mental.
Sleeping only 2 hours of the 51 and with temperatures of up to 104ºF (40ºC), this was a tough race even by Bart’s standards.
