After a successful showing at the recent ICF SUP World Champs, the Starboard Dream team show no signs of slowing down. Last weekend, Italian rider Caterina Stenta headed to Austria to compete at the SUP Alps Trophy in Austria, where she took a solid victory, racing the 2023 Sprint in the new Zero Construction (hollow board design built with cutting-edge carbon sandwich technology).
It was the final race of this circuit for this season, organised by the Austrian SUP Federation, which took place in Millstatt. Millstätter See is an alpine lake located high up in the Austrian Alps, making for a beautiful location to host an event offering stunning views on the mountains and a good flat water training too!
This was the first time Caterina used the new Sprint Zero in competition, and was loving it; ” I raced with the 2023 hollow Sprint, first time using it. It was a 4 lap course with each lap 5 buoy turns, in total 10.5km.
We were 6 women and more or less 50 men.
I won in 1h8minutes and was top15 in the men.
The water was flat, that’s why I’ve decided to use the new Sprint and tried it even with the many buoy turns. The Zero was amazing, felt super connected and stable — even on the turns!”
