The boat and water sports trade fair in Düsseldorf is known far beyond Germany’s borders and is considered one of the most important international trade fairs in the industry.
This year too, over 200,000 visitors found their way to the exhibition center with a total of 17 different halls from January 18th to 26th, 2024. Starboard was also represented in Hall 17 – the trendy sports hall. One of the special features of this hall was, among other things, the indoor pool including a wind turbine. Here you could watch the professionals wakeboarding, winging or pump foiling or go on the water yourself with SUPs.
If you had enough of the action in the pool or needed to dry your straight hair, you could listen to TED talks on stage from some of the most innovative minds in our industry. Speakers on stage included Clinton Filen (product designer of Airush and Freewing), Martin Fischer (product designer of Starboardfoils) and the riders Elias Ouahmid (Wing and Foil) and Carsten Kurmis (SUP).
Well-known faces from the windsurfing scene were also there and if you were lucky as a visitor, you could have a quick chat with Philip Köster or take a picture with Björn and Liam Dunkerbeck.
