Starboard’s windsurfing designs were just awarded with 2 Olympic disciplines towards the Paris and LA Olympic Games.
Our next goal is to work with clubs and associations worldwide to strengthen Junior and Youth Windsurfing.
It’s a tremendous responsibility and the most exciting challenge yet for our Starboard group.
We are here to help redefine a sport and appreciate everyone’s help to carry forward the torch that was lit by Jim Drake and Hoyle Schweitzer when they invented windsurfing in 1967.

What About SUP In The Olympic Games?
During my days in 1982/83 pre Olympic and the 1984 LA Olympics, the idea of one day foiling on a Starboard in the Olympics was galaxies away.
However, with so many talented hard working people in our realm, all rooting for change,
it was proven what underdogs can do when they get together and do not take no from a bureaucracy as an answer.
How Might We Start a Underground SUP Games Movement?
Riders, national associations, media and industry joining, speaking up for our sport, while the international organizations focus on their infighting, not sharing anything with
the true stakeholders?
Perhaps an exhibition down the Seine river in Paris and pushing forward towards the 2028
LA games? If you have an idea, lets talk about it !
We seem galaxies away, but that’s just making it more urgent to get started, we want to create
Olympic dreams for current athletes and grow the sport through grassroots campaigns.
