Awesome weather in Czech Republic’s capital city, Prague, welcomed SUP racers from around the globe for one of the biggest events of the year this past weekend. The 8th stop of The Euro Tour saw the return of some of the biggest names in the sport in an actioned packed weekend of SUP racing.
On the men’s side, there was a lot of anticipation for the return of Australia’s Michael Booth, the three times SUP EuroTour Champion. Boothy is pretty much undefeated over the last few years, but even he admitted he was nervous at the start line today after the almost two years forced break. While the Starboard Dream Team rider didn’t have a flawless race, he did manage to outmuscle fellow teammate Daniel Hasulyo (Hungary) for the top podium spot. The youngster Clement Colmas, of New Caledonian, rounded out the top 3 men’s podium. The very consistent Davide Alpino from Italy came in 5th after another strong performance.
On the women’s side, Fiona Wylde came out guns blazing – the American put a solid lead from lap one to claim her third win this season, ahead of Starboard teammates Espe Barreras (Spain) finishing 2nd and Caterina Stenta (Italy) closing out the top 5.
With the biggest Juniors field on SUP Euro Tour of the 2021 season, the kids’ race was highly contested. They did a lap of the elite course and showed their prowess on the technical course with many following through in the afternoon and completing the Elite race as well. The day easily belonged to them, and all of them were winners.
