Follow the intermediate SUP Paddle Board Tips On How To Paddle Into a Headwind:
Paddling into the wind is not fun, but there are a few tips to paddle more effectively to help you get through the hard wind situation.
Mainly, you have to keep in mind that reducing the wind resistance is a key. You can follow these steps:
- Get low to your board as much as you can.
You can drop yourself into a kneeling position to decrease wind resistance on your body.
- Move yourself to the front of the board
To get the nose of the board down & close to the water as much as possible by using your weight. If the nose of the board is lifted, it will make wind resistance.
- Don’t stop paddling and increase stroke rate.
By lower your hand down the shaft to help you shorten the length of your stroke and keep paddling easily.
- Feather your blade
You have to twist your wrist inwards on the recovery stroke so that the blade is slicing to the air. It makes sure your paddle makes the least resistance.
Accordingly, to start paddling upwind and finish downwind is always a better plan.
