The Starboard ‘Double Action’ feature on all our inflatable paddleboard pumps allow you to pump up your iSUP faster with fewer strokes. Here is how to switch the Starboard pump from the double-action to single-action mode:
1. Pump the paddle board up to 7 PSI with Double Action Mode.
Double Action means the air will go into your paddle board either when you pull the pump handle up or push the pump handle down. That’s the reason why it’s faster to pump up an inflatable stand up paddle board with a double-action pump. Furthermore, when you are at 0-7 PSI, it is easier to pump up the board as the pressure is still low hence, less resistance on the pump.
2. Switch to Single Action Mode after 7 PSI.
Once you have reached 7 PSI, switch to use single-action mode. Single Action means the air will go into your paddle board only when you push the pump handle down. At 7 PSI, there is more pressure hence you will feel like the pump handle is heavier. By using Single Action Mode, it will be easier to pull the pump handle up as there is no pressure resistance and you can use your body weight to help push the pump handle down.
