The 2024 ICF SUP World Championships took place from November 19 to 24 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida. This flagship event featured over 500 athletes from 52 countries, competing in various SUP disciplines across five thrilling days. The competition included a mix of high-intensity sprints, technical races, and long-distance challenges, with participants showcasing their skills on a world-class course.
The Starboard Dream Team delivered outstanding performances, hitting the podium an impressive 9 times across multiple disciplines.
Espe Barreras won 🥇 Gold in Women’s Long Distance, earning her 9th World Champion title, and added a 🥈 Silver in Technical.
Noic Garioud shined with a 🥇 Gold in Men’s Technical, securing his 6th World Champion Title, and a 🥈 Silver in Long Distance.
Junior star Cecilia Pampinella showed her talent by winning 🥇 Gold in Women’s Sprint and 🥈 Silver medals in both Long Distance and Technical.
More medals came from Alba Frey, who earned a 🥉 Bronze in Women’s Sprint, and Cameron Tripney, who secured a 🥉 Bronze in Men’s Sprint.
Additionally, Andrii Kraytor powered to 🥇 Gold in the Men’s Sprint with a record-breaking time of 23.05 seconds, while Matei Barbu secured 🥇 Gold in the Junior Men’s Sprint, both riding the Starboard Sprint board.
