Claudio Nika has done it again, taking home the 2022 EuroSUP Sprint Title and cements his name as one of the fastest paddleboard sprinters in the business. The explosive Italian rider finished 1st in all 4 of his heats, and also posted an insane fastest time for the event, clocking a 01:00:58 min for the 200m dash and well ahead of the competition. Claudio raced the All Star, the perfect board for the fast-paced race that has a beach start.
“It was crazy a crazy race here in Denmark!
I’m very happy to have opened up this 2022 European Championship with a gold medal in the SUP Sprint being the First European Champ in the 200m.
Finally after 2 years of racing hiatious it was nice to see our Italian SUP team reunited. The Italian federation “Surfing FISW” once again took care of our team at this event. They have suppported our national team and the Italian athletes for 6 years now and continue to support us through selection of the Italian Team through national and international competitions.
This time it was again my turn to represent Italy and I defended my 200m World Title while also earning vital points for Team Italy, at the moment we are in 3rd place as a Team. I will do my best to bring the tricolor as high as possible also in the team relay – the next upcoming event. In the meantime I celebrate the medal I brought home.
