WASTE2WEAR: FABRIC MADE FROM RECYCLED PLASTIC BOTTLES
The SUP Paddle Bags have a RPET 450D outer fabric layer made from recycled plastic bottles, in partnership with Waste2Wear.
The bottles are chopped into flakes, washed, melted and extruded into yarns and then spun into a fabric.
Between 10 to 30 bottles are used per bag. Bottles that now re-enters the market again, without risk of polluting the environment.
Ripstop weaving technology improves wear and tear resistance.
ULTRA-DURABLE RIPSTOP TECHNOLOGY
• The outer later of the SUP paddle bags are made from a durable 450D recycled polyester fabric. • It’s woven using a special reinforcement technique that makes the fabric resistant to tearing, while being lightweight. • The advantage of ripstop is a very good strength-to-weight ratio and it is difficult for water or wind to pass through. • 5mm grid lines that make excellent tear stops.
INNOVATIVE CONSTRUCTION
• Triple layer construction to protect paddles from scratch and impact • Designed with 8mm padding soft foam core, a PU coating 210D polyester inner layer with 410D durable outer layer. • A reinforced double-stitched seam edge for added durability and improves product life. • Select models feature an outer mesh pocket for fins & accessories.
HEAVY-DUTY PASKAL ZIPPERS
Heavy-duty non-corrosive Paskal buckles and zippers are placed away from the edge of the bag to protect your board’s rails from damage, while removing the need for an overlapping layer of zipper protection.
This helps to reduce the weight of the bag even further.
For every tonne of CO2 emitted when making our bags and accessories we plant 3 mangrove trees with Worldview International Foundation.
Each Mighty Mangrove sinks down 673kg of VCS certified CO2 during its first 25 years. Together, our mangroves offset emissions 10 X over and help fund livelihood projects in Myanmar.
Buy a board and we pick up 1.1 kg of beach/ ocean plastic trash – equivalent to the amount of plastic trash entering the ocean, per person, per year. Starboard balances this amount for our customers.
The Touring has an average plastic content of 11 kg per board.
