The US Open of SUP at Santa Monica was the first stop of the 2022 APP season, consisting of both a Sprint and Long Distance event, using the rider’s combined positions from both events to determine the overall winner.
The Sprint race featured a 2-lap technical beach race format, with a beach portage on lap one, with athletes required to progress through heats and repechage rounds in order to advance to the finals.
In the men’s Sprint final, Connor & Arthur battle all the way to the line, with the Maui waterman proving that he never gives up and powers over the final wave in front and beat the Frenchman to the line in an exciting run up the beach.
