Big double podium finish at APP Korea for Starboard Dream Team riders Rai Taguchi 🥇 and Daniel Hasulyo 🥈
This weekend was the second stop of the APP World Tour for the APP Asian Championships presented by KAPP, in Seoul, Korea. Saturday was the Sprint format followed by a new pump foiling race, and Sunday saw the LD event.
Thai Team riders Pluem and Tee also put on impressive performances. Pluem (Junior) finished 4th in the PRO-AM Distance while Starboard crew member and shaper, Tee, finished 2nd in the Open category. In the women’s field, it was a clean sweep of the podium for team Starboard — taking out the first 3 positions. Taking the win was Lim Sujeong, followed 2nd by Choi Jiwon and junior rider Yang Hyo Ju in 3rd — and all representing Team Starboard Korea. Well done to all the racers representing their countries and the Tiki!
Sprint – 300m
Rai Taguchi from Okinawa, Japan continues his great 2022 form winning the sprint racing on day 1 in dominant fashion, followed by Daniel Hasulyo in 2nd.
Distance – 9km
Rai and teammate Daniel then battled it out the following day on their Starboard Sprints, averaging 10.7km/h. It would be Rai’s easy handling of the 5 bouy turns per lap (3 laps) that would see him outpace the Hungarian to take the win.
Overall
Combined results saw the Starboard team take the overall win at the weekend’s KAPP. Big thanks to KAPP & APP, DreamsCorp, many local sponsors and of course Starboard SUP KOREA
