Hyper Nut

Proven innovative shapes with inverted rails

The Hyper Nut model matches the stability of a longer board with the performance of a smaller board.

This surf SUP offers excitement to the most mediocre conditions. The short outline, thin rail and tail shape transform the performance without sacrificing stability.

10 x CLIMATE POSITIVE

PATENTED SHAPE TECHNOLOGY

The Hyper Nut design is the 3rd evolution of our favorite compact nut design, offering a skatey and reactive ride like no other.

WIDE AND SHORT NOSE OUTLINE

• Wide nose for stability

THE INVERTED NUT RAILS

Excellent acceleration and a pivot point for tight turning.

The nut tail shape gives you the turning of a short board, with the rail parallel rail outline of a longer more stable model in the nose.

DEEPER SWALLOW TAIL

Gives you stable width, while offering a thin rail for better rail engagement on the wave face and faster turning.

THIN RAILS TOWARDS THE TAIL

Fast down the line speed and fast turning.

FLAT STANDING AREA

Stable and comfortable paddling and easy control when on the wave.

FLAT ROCKER

For easy acceleration getting onto the waves and faster speed when surfing.

CHANNEL BOTTOM SHAPE

• Center rocker uses the Pro rocker line for speed and tight turning in the pocket
• Flat spot in front of the fins for extra acceleration and better fin engagement.

FIN ANGLES

The front fins have more angle for better roll on the wave and helps you to have more engagement from the fins when turning. The rear fins are straighter to give you speed and drive.

FIN SET UP

• 3.7 rear side fins make it much easier to slide the tail for more radical turns with less effort.
• Quad fin set up uses 4 side fins and gives fast acceleration and instant down the line speed.
• Quads are looser through turns, making it easier to slide the tail out.

NEW BOARD SOCK

Reduces paper waste while protecting your board from dust, scratches, and UV damage. Made with stretchable polyester, it fits various board shapes. Ensure optimal board maintenance with the iconic blue Board Sock, featuring a secure drawstring closure.

FIN ANGLES

The front fins have more angle helping you to engage earlier and have more grip on the wave, while the rear fins are straighter giving you more drive and speed

FIN SET UP

• 3.7 rear side fins make it much easier to slide the tail for more radical turns with less effort.

• Quad fin set up uses 4 side fins and gives fast acceleration and instant down the line speed as it does not have a drag from a centre fin.

• Quads are looser through turns, making it easier to slide the tail out.

TIMELESS LOOK, SOLID PERFORMANCE

• Twin T-stringers made from glass fibre are positioned on the deck and bottom of the board close to the rail, providing a massive increase in the overall strength against total breakage in surf.

• An additional wide layer of 200g glass wraps the rails for higher strength against paddle impact and further reinforces the overall strength against buckling.

• The deck features reinforced biaxial glass and Australian pine, to resist heel dents and impact from the standing area.

• The nose and tail are wrapped in multiple layers of glass fiber for further strength on these impact zones.

Available Sizes

8’0″ x 31.5″ / 135 L

Length: 8’0” / 244 cm.

Width: 31.5” / 80 cm.

Although the longest, the 8’0” is very responsive, fast down the line and easy to rotate through turns. The narrower nose draws a smooth line through turns, while the deeper swallow tail responds with less pressure to initiate turns.

Available constructions:

• Limited Series

7’4″ x 30″ / 116 L

Length: 7’4” / 224 cm.

Width: 30” / 76 cm.

The 7’4” is more maneuverable due to the shorter length, ideal for riders up to 90kg. The shorter length compared to the 8’0” will fit tighter in the pocket in critical sections of the wave and will generally be faster to turn with less swing weight.

Available constructions:

• Limited Series

11’2″ x 32″ GO

Length: 11’2″ / 340 cm

Width: 32″ / 81 cm

This is a truly amazing board. The glide matches that of a narrower board and its stability is tremendous due to the concave hull and boxy rails. This is the board if you are getting your first SUP board.

Available construction:

• Starshot Tikhine

• ASAP WS

• Lite Tech

• NEW Rhino

For every board Starboard plants 3 mangrove trees with Worldview International Foundation.

Each tree absorbs 673kg of CO2 during its first 25 years.

50% of absorption goes towards offsetting this board & 50% is secured as carbon credits to fund livelihood projects in Myanmar.

The average emission from a Starboard board is 100 kg CO2.

By planting 3 trees per board we offset this 10 x over.

The Hyper Nut has an average carbon footprint of 107.6 kg per board.

1.4 kg of trash is collected per board by starboard pop crews at beaches in Thailand & Myanmar.

Globally, an individual is responsible for 1.4 kg of plastic reaching the ocean every year.

Starboard balances this amount for our customers.

The Hyper Nut has an average plastic content of 6.8 kg per board.
