HYPER NUT

PROVEN INNOVATIVE SHAPES WITH INVERTED RAILS, THE NEW TREND WHICH BLEW OLD CONCEPTS AWAY

The Hyper Nut offers the stability from a larger board and performance of a smaller board. A new found love in every quiver, it offers excitement to the most mediocre conditions. The new shorter outline, thinner rail and updated tail shape transforms the performance.

Key features

NEW WIDER AND SHORTER NOSE

– Wider nose is more stable despite the boards being shorter.

THE STRAIGHTER OUTLINE

– Increases speed as the entire rail is engaged down the wave face.

– Increases stability and speed on the wave as you can engage the entire rail length.

– Easier to pivot and fit into smaller sections of the waves.

THE INVERTED NUT RAILS

provide insane acceleration and a pivot point for tight turning.

FLAT STANDING AREA

adds stability and makes for easy rail-to-rail transitions.

FLAT ROCKER

produces speed, helps get into waves easily and adds stability.

THINNER RAILS

– Make it easier to engage the rail on the wave with less foot pressure.

– Rails are thinner from the mid point to the tail for more responsive turning.

CHANNEL BOTTOM SHAPE

– Creates a flat spot in front of the fins for extra acceleration

– Deeper swallow tail gives more bite through the turns.

FIN SET UP

– New smaller 3.7 rear side fins makes it much easier to slide the tail for more radical turns with less effort.

– Quad fin set up uses 4 side fins and gives fast acceleration and instant down the line speed as it does not have drag from a centre fin.

– Quads are looser through turns, making it easier to slide the tail out.

2 CONSTRUCTIONS TO

CHOOSE FROM

BLUE CARBON TECHNOLOGY

– Lightest weight, Best response, Strongest build

– High-density End Grain Balsa covers the full bottom for incredible impact resistance and fatigue strength.

– Natural uni-directional flax sourced from Europe wraps the full rails stiffens the board and avoids total breakage.

– Multiple reinforcements in the standing area, nose and tail increase impact resistance.

STARLITE TECHNOLOGY

– Scratch proof Parabolic Carbon Innegra rail.

– A combination of different fiberglass densities wrap the entire hull for strength and durability.

– Australian pine on standing area for extra impact resistance and rigidity.

HYPER NUT

Length: 9’6” / 290 cm.

Width: 31.5” / 80 cm.

This is the biggest board in the range, designed to have the longest glide and easiest entry into waves. Suited for heavier riders and those who want a stable board to get into wave riding. Features a narrower nose outline to limit catches through the turns.

HYPER NUT

Length: 9’0” / 274 cm.

Width: 31.5” / 80 cm.

Proven hard to beat, the 9’0″ suited for heavier riders delivers speed from the longer length and stability from a wider outline. The new fin set up makes it feel like a different board and guarantees to excite.

8’4” x 31.5”

HYPER NUT

Length: 8’4” / 254 cm.

Width: 31.5” / 80 cm.

2″ shorter than its previous partner the 8’6″, the thinner rails towards the tail an the shorter outline makes the new 8’4″ much easier to turn and redirect on the wave. For bigger waves the 5.5 front fins will give more bite and hold, in smaller conditions the 3.7″ rear will loosen the ride.

7’10” x 31.5″

HYPER NUT

Length: 7’10” / 239 cm.

Width: 31.5” / 80 cm.

The 7’10” replaced the 8’0″ and was a real favorite among the boards tested the thinned down rails makes it turn on a dime and much easier to sink a relatively large tail outline with ease, making the board maneuver like a much shorter board. The new outline with the slightly wider nose actually increased stability despite being 2″ shorter.

HYPER NUT

Length: 7’6” / 229 cm.

Width: 30” / 76 cm.

A wider range of motion through turns, more control on drops and drive to set up for faster redirections off the top. A twin fin set up with larger front side fins makes a super exciting ride in smaller surf when you really want to push the limit of sliding through turns.

HyPER NUT

Length: 7’2” / 218 cm.

Width: 30” / 76 cm.

“I was really impressed with the progress made on this 7’2″ & 7’0″: they feel very alive, yet precise in holding the line, and are super easy to redirect as well. A skatey feeling that doesn’t compromise the classical style of riding. Overall super stroked with the result. Also a great feeling with 3.7 fins.”-Franz Orsi.

7’0” x 28”

HyPER NUT

Length: 7’0” / 213 cm.

Width: 28” / 71 cm.

“A short board with a big bite. 7’0″ felt awesome in small to overhead surf. A big upgrade with new rails, you feel the difference immediately. I was able to easily hold my rail with greater control in solid head high conditions. Super fast on the wave, quicker to initiate turns and really fun to whip around with the smaller fins.”-Ollie O’Reilly.

BOARD REVIEWS

RIDER COMMENTS

“The Hyper Nut is the super fun board that makes any conditions feel like a skateboard park! Small waves become open canvases and mushy waves become fun again! This doesn’t mean you can’t bring it out into some sizable surf as well! For whatever the conditions, this is a board that can be fun in anything!”

Fiona Wylde

RIDER COMMENTS

“The Hyper Nut’s are my go to board in surf that is a bit mushy and slow. When riding the Hyper Nut it provides you with so much speed on the wave and great manoeuvrability. Instead of having a frustrating surf you can go out there and have a fun time making the most of the conditions. It’s a favourite in my quiver.

Shakira Westdorp

RIDER COMMENTS

“The Hyper Nut presents a really special board in that it works for small gutless surf but also midrange size with punch. I’ve even seen Zane Schweitzer get barrelled on a Hyper Nut at Teahupoo! The boards outline provides stability like no other, and the combination of channels and nut outline create a board with ridiculous turning quickness and exciting release.”

Sean Ponyter

RIDER COMMENTS

“A few refinements has the 2019 Hypernut’s offering a broader appeal. The new 7’10 certainly feels like a smaller board however it maintains its stability and floatation from the older 8’0. What I found was the board really allowed a lighter weight rider to engage the rail and tail section easier, through the pulled in outline and thinned out rails. As usual the Hypernut generates plenty of speed but through the top turn the smaller rear fins allow the board to slide if pushed harder.”
